RoofX is for compatible asphalt shingles. White RoofX is for compatible white roofing surfaces. First inspect the roof; then clean, repair where needed, and select the appropriate treatment. RoofX and White RoofX use ZnO for microbial inhibition without light, with additional photocatalytic activity in suitable light.
One level deeper.
Roof preservation begins with substrate condition. Asphalt shingles and reflective membranes age differently and require different preparation and compatibility checks. Clean reflective roof surfaces can better retain their intended optical properties; that principle alone does not quantify a treatment’s energy savings. ZnO contributes microbial inhibition without requiring light, and suitable light can enhance its activity. TiO₂ provides light-activated photocatalytic action. Cobalt is included to support heat dissipation. These are different roles within the formulation; surface contact, application, and operating conditions affect the result.

Does the treatment work when there is no light?
RoofX and White RoofX are designed for surface care in both light and dark conditions. ZnO contributes microbial inhibition without light. Suitable light can enhance ZnO and activates TiO₂ photocatalysis. The level and duration of performance depend on the formulation, surface, application, and environment.
Can a treatment fix a leaking roof?
No. Locate and repair leaks and underlying damage first. A preservation treatment is not a substitute for a sound roofing system.
Which product is right for my roof?
RoofX is intended for compatible asphalt shingles. White RoofX is intended for compatible white roof surfaces, including specified TPO, PVC, vinyl, and elastomeric systems. Confirm your exact substrate before use.
Can every older roof be treated?
No. A qualified inspection determines whether the roof is a suitable candidate. Brittle, failed, or structurally compromised systems may need replacement.
Will it affect my roof warranty?
Confirm compatibility and any warranty requirements with the roofing manufacturer and your applicator before treatment.
